Alicia Keys helped wake up her hometown of New York City on Friday morning. The R&B songstress was the musical guest on the “Today” show, kicking off Labor Day weekend with a rousing performance in Rockerfeller Plaza.
The singer/songwriter, who is pushing the no-make up trend, brought out the big hits for the packed crowd, singing “Girl On Fire,” “No One” and “You Don’t Know My Name.”
Alicia also performed her newest single “In Common” and the recently released “Back To Life,” off the soundtrack to the upcoming Disney movie, Queen of Katwe.
She also talked to Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie about the her new music and going without makeup, which led to a special moment of her inspiring hosts Tamron Hall, Billy Bush and Al Roker to remove their TV makeup. Keys helped Hall remove her makeup with a few moist towelettes.
