As she gets closer and closer to releasing her anticipated new album Mad Love., JoJo takes a trip down memory lane in the nostalgic video for her dedication song “Music.”
Belting out her signature vocals over a simple piano track, Jojo sings about family, growth, and the impact music has had on her life. The visual is filled with a collage of childhood videos of the young singer performing, doing interviews, and recording.
There are stirring moments throughout the VHS-themed clip, perhaps most moving when JoJo sings about her late father.
“Went on the road to make my daddy proud / But I lost him and so I sang to the crowd / My only hope is that he’s looking down / Thinking, ‘Oh my God. My daughter’s doing it now’,” she sings.
Mad Love., featuring the Remy Ma-assisted “FAB” and the Wiz Khalifa-backed “F**k Apologies,” is due out Oct. 14.
