John Legend celebrated love on Sunday night’s AMAs.
Prior to his performance of “Love Me Now,” the R&B crooner was introduced by his wife, Chrissy Teigen, who called her hubby “a brilliant musician, a wonderful father,” and a man who knows how to make “a pretty damn good breakfast sandwich.”
After being censored for using profanity, she added: “I think we could all use a little love tonight.”
Legend took her instruction and lit up the stage, borrowing images and scenes from the song’s diverse music video, which appeared both behind him and over his 3 tier stage platforms.
“Love Me Now” is the lead single off Legend’s forthcoming album Darkness and Light, which drops Dec. 2.
