With his new album Darkness and Light hitting stores on Friday, John Legend was the musical guest Friday evening on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.”

While earlier in the day he performed the album’s lead single “Love Me Now” on “Good Morning America,” the R&B crooner went a different route for late night, giving his first televised performance of the smooth song “Penthouse Floor” which features Chance the Rapper.

With some help from The Roots and two background singers, Legend grooved to a sultry love song, singing: “Let’s ride the elevator, it’s what we’ve been waiting for / We’ll tear down the penthouse door.”

In addition to his performance, John and his wife Chrissy Teigen joined Jimmy and guest Chelsea Handler for a funny game of charades. He also sat down for an interview, where he spoke about learning to parent as he goes and what he and Chrissy did with the viral baby photo that looks exactly like him.
