Watch: Ro James Performs NPR Music ‘Tiny Desk’ Concert

By

The now Grammy-nominated Ro James and his band recently stopped by the NPR Music offices in Washington, D.C. to play a special set for their infamous ‘Tiny Desk’ concert series.

Rocking his signature leather jacket and a vintage Chanel bucket hat, the New York based R&B crooner kicked off his performance with his breakout hit, “Permission,” showcasing his raspy vocal range, while hitting all the right chill-bump-causing falsetto notes.

A new arrangement of his follow-up single, “Already Knew That,” maintained the bounce of the studio version, but allows listeners to follow the playful words even better.

In between songs, Ro asks, “Y’all hot, or is it just me?” — at which point a few in the audience immediately giggle and agree while fanning themselves. Closing the set with his fan favorite, the euphoric “A.D.I.D.A.S. (All Day I),” James continues to exemplify cool.

Check out his must-watch performance below.
