Indie R&B artist K. Avett has debuted the cinematic music video for her buzzing new single “The Matter (What Are We Here For?).” The Terrell, Texas bred songstress makes a powerful statement with the New York City based visuals — directed by Escobar Entertainment.
Showing much of NYC’s beauty, the video also portrays a tale of the struggle through the life of a young girl growing up in poverty with a single father. With dangers around the corner, the man attempts to leave a criminal past behind and secure a new job. Scenes of K. Avett performing the soulful song in Central Park, by the East River, and in Times Square are spliced in, but before the girl and her father can celebrate, his past comes back to haunt him.
Premiering the video Wednesday (Feb. 15) on VEVO, the talented singer/songwriter has much more in store for 2017.
