R&B songstress Candice Boyd is reminiscing over earlier days in a relationship when the love made her feel beautiful, on her new single “Make Me Over.”
Unfortunately, over time her man has become less of a support and more of a critic, as she vies to rebuild her confidence and love herself.
“Tryin’ to make you happy / When makin’ you happy is making me hate myself / I just want to be beautiful / Like when our love was all brand new / God make me over / Good enough for you,” she sings.
The piano ballad may sound familiar to those that remember singer/songwriter RaVaughn, who also cut the song for her debut project, which was never released.
Candice, who is signed to Ne-Yo’s Compound Entertainment and Epic Records, recently supported Ro James on his “XIX Tour.”
