Beyoncé will soon have two more children to take care of, but before she gives birth to twins, the global superstar is giving back to young women.
In honor of the one-year anniversary of her album Lemonade, Bey has announced “Formation Scholars,” a new scholarship program for young women going into the 2017-2018 school year.
According to a press release today (Apr. 25), the scholarship fund is meant to “encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious, and confident.”
In its inauguration year, the scholars will come from four different schools: Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spellman College.
“Four scholarships will be awarded, one per college, to female incoming, current, or graduate students pursuing studies in the creative arts, music, literature, or African-American studies,” reads a statement. However, at this time it has not been revealed how much money will be going towards each scholarship winner.
