Bryson Tiller True to Self

Bryson Tiller is No. 1.

The R&B singer/raper has notched his first top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with his second studio effort, True to Self. The set, which was released through TrapSoul/RCA Records on May 26, earned 107,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 1, according to Nielsen Music (via Billboard). Of that sum, 47,000 were in traditional album sales.

True to Self, which is led by the single “Somethin Tells Me,” was released a month earlier than its expected June 23 street date, and is the follow-up to Tiller’s debut album, TRAPSOUL. The latter set peaked at No. 8 on the chart in January of 2016, and has earned 1.6 million equivalent album units, of which 441,000 are in traditional album sales.

Bryson is celebrating the release of True To Self with 3 intimate shows. The first two were this past weekend in Los Angeles and New York, while the third will be on Wednesday (June 7) in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Later this summer, Tiller will travel across the U.S. and Canada on his “Set It Off Tour,” which kicks off August 3 in Atlanta and closes out Sept. 16 in Louisville, KY.
