Indie artist Jon Schuyler is back with a smooth one.
The 27-year-old Ohio native has released a nostalgic, summertime ready R&B single titled “Let Me Love You.” Produced alongside longtime production collective, St. Francis, listeners will find themselves in a time capsule as a melodic Mary J. Blige sample rings through much of the verse and hook.
Schuyler himself seemingly glides through his verses pleading his case to his lover all while paying homage to the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul herself.
“I told myself that I wasn’t going to cry no / No more drama, I’m about to take the high road,” he sings. “I just want to share my world, never put you on the side no / So what’s the 411 baby? / I know you’re trying to have fun baby / But I think that you’re the one baby.”
Hopefully this is just a preview of what’s to come from Jon this summer. “Let Me Love You” is available on all digital retailers and streaming platforms now.
