During the Soul Train Awards weekend, BET launched a mini digital series titled ‘State of R&B.’ The 3-episode panel discussion featured some of today’s R&B luminaries to discuss the state of the genre’s past, present and future.
The esteemed group of celebrity panelists includs singer/songwriter Sevyn Streeter, singer/songwriter Elijah Blake, producer/songwriter LaShawn Daniels, English singer/songwriter Rachel Kerr, and English producer/songwriter Harmony Samuels.
Across the three episodes the group explore the cultural phenomenon of ’90s R&B, how technology has altered the R&B music industry, and lastly how music heals the soul. They also pay homage to Brandy and the Soul Train Awards honorees Toni Braxton and SWV.
