Hot on the heels of her BRITs Critics Choice Award and the cinematic video for “Let Me Down,” buzzing British songstress Jorja Smith has shared some revealing personal truths in a pleasantly candid interview on BBC 1Xtra with radio host A.Dot.
The friendly conversation had the 20-year-old vocalist blushing while she addressed her recently revealed relationship, which set fans crazy on social media. The singer posted that her man doesn’t like her braids, thus causing chaos with all of her admirers who for one didn’t know she was even in a relationship (rumors are she is dating UK rapper Joel Compass), and confusion over why anyone wouldn’t like her braids!
In 2017, Jorja was widely introduced to many through her features on Drake’s album More Life. A.Dot quizzed her on Drake’s personality and if he ever texts her at 4am. In addition to talking about her new single “Let Me Down,” and hotly-anticipated debut album (which is due out this June), Smith spoke about her youth and growing up as a mixed race girl. He revealing experiences with racism, and dealt with lack of self confidence for many years.
