The speculation was absolutely right! Justin Timberlake is planning for a major 2018 with the forthcoming release of his anticipated fourth studio album. The pop superstar officially announced the LP, Man of the Woods with a personal trailer.
The follow-up to 2013’s The 20/20 Experience: Part 1 & 2 is due out February 2, just days before he will take the stage for a performance at the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show.
The scenic trailer finds Timberlake in fields and western landscapes with his wife Jessica Biel. Narrating the clip in poetic fashion, Justin says: “This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I’ve ever written, where I’m from. It’s personal.”
Soundtracked by snippets of new material, Timberlake’s frequent collaborator Pharrell Williams pops up in the studio with some descriptive words about what fans can expect from the album.
“It feels so earthy,” he explained. “It’s just where you are in your life right now.” Listening back to a song from the LP, he adds: “That is a smash.”
Timberlake captioned the clip “FRIDAY…” hinting at a Jan. 5 release for the potential first single, rumored to be titled “Fresh Leaves.”
In addition to Pharrell, JT worked consistently with frequent collaborator Timbaland on the album. “The music we just made? It’s gonna put him on another plateau,” the super producer recently told Rolling Stone.
“Due out February 2, the follow-up to 2013’s The 20/20 Experience Part 1 & 2 is due out February 2, just days before he will take the stage for a performance at the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show.”
Redundancy is redundant.
Kevin, you are absolutely right. Thanks for catching that error.
