Motown’s JAMESDAVIS recently returned with the mini EP, Not the Album, but on Friday (Jan. 19) they officially released it across all digital music services and changed the title to ‘217.’ The 3-song project acts as just the first half of a 2-part EP series, with the second portion to follow.
The soulful trio–comprised of fraternal twin sisters Jess & Rey and their younger brother Auston–formed as a group to express their lives in an audible form. Helmed with love, hard knocks and passion, their songs are an extension of the epilogues constantly forming in their heads.
With the worldwide release of their recent EP, the band have also unveiled a music video for the opening track “Bodies.” The impassioned song is led by the contrasting vocals of Jess & Rey who deliver both a raw and raspy tone complimented with soaring runs underneath. The black-and-white visual finds the three siblings in different rooms and areas of a warehouse set. Cutting between a bathtub, couch, bedroom and sun-soaked windows. Auston joins his sisters in some scenes outside and shirtless inside, but isn’t featured on the song vocally.
