Hot off taking home the 2018 BRIT’s Critics Choice Award, rising songstress Jorja Smith debuts the music video for her brand new single “Let Me Down” featuring Stormzy.
Donning a blond wig, black glasses and tan trench coat, the 20-year-old singer portrays a mysterious vixen on a mission. The string-laced ballad–produced by Ed Thomas & Paul Epworth–acts as the soundtrack while Jorja watches a male ballet dancer practice for a show. Complimenting the cinematic nature of the song the video breaks for a moment of dialog where she is given a paper bag of money to complete a job. Her assignment is to kill the dancer, which plays out after the two share an intimate moment together in his apartment.
At the end, Stormzy receives a phone call that the job is complete and the screen goes dark.
Jorja Smith had a breakout 2017 and looks to be on her way to an even bigger 2018 with the release of her anticipated debut album. During an interview at the BRIT’s nominations launch event she revealed that the album is finished and she is looking at a June release.
