Trey Songz turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department on Monday (March 19). The R&B singer is facing a felony domestic violence charge, after a woman named Andrea Buera accused him of hitting her during NBA All-Star Weekend.
Shortly before turning himself in, Songz addressed the matter on social media. He said that he was being “falsely accused for someone’s personal gain” and he thanked fans for their support.
For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me. I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain

Songz surrendered and was booked at 6 a.m. He was released two hours later on $50,000 bond, according to TMZ.
Buera accused Songz of hitting her in the face at a Hollywood Hills party during NBA All-Star Weekend last month. She claims he was upset because she spoke with another man and that he struck her during an argument.
The singer’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, claims there are inconsistencies in Buera’s story. In his statement to fans, Trey said that he was being “lied on.”
