Raheem DeVaughn is coming for the summer, he’s told us via social media. After a slew of his signature Jackin’ for Beats remixes, the Love King returns with the official new single “Don’t Come Easy.”
As expected from the D.C. crooner, the track is a sultry, soulful slow jam featuring subtle synths and finger snaps. The topic covers the dedication and work involved in keeping a relationship going strong and passionate. Even true love takes time, commitment and patience, take it from the Love King himself.
“Love, don’t come that easy,” he sings. “You gotta sacrifice every day / You gotta make sure you’re willing to change.
Raheem recently took to Instagram to alert his follows that from now on he should only be referred to as The Love King of R&B. “Always bet on yourself & let your ART reflect your STYLE & GRACE and vice versa,” he wrote. “(Please Note) From this day forward refer to me as Raheem DeVaughn The Love King Of R&B.”
“Don’t Come Easy” is the first single from Devaughn’s forthcoming album Decade of a Love King, which follows 2015’s Love Sex Passion. Take a listen below.
