The Internet got us banking on a steady roll and bounce. The R&B Funk band have quickly revamped their brand new single “Roll (Burbank Funk)” with an official remix by producer/DJ KAYTRANADA.
A whopping bassline fills the speakers on first play adding an even more hypnotic groove to the funkified space jam. Kaytranada does an exceptional job of stripping back the original just slightly, which allows for the vocals to stand out a bit more. It’s also extended in time with a percussion and bass filled bridge.
“Catch stars, up high / It’s all in your heart,” sings guitarist Steve Lacy and frontwoman Syd. “We’re up, so high / It’s all in your heart / I wanna fly.”
“Roll (Burbank Funk)” is The Internet’s first release since their 2015 Grammy-nominated, critically-lauded album Ego Death, along with solo releases from band members Syd, Matt Martians, Steve Lacy, and Christopher Smith.
The Internet will be playing select shows across the world throughout the rest of 2018, including headlining slots at Afropunk in Brooklyn and Atlanta, and festival appearances at FYF, Outside Lands, Lovebox, and more.
