Ne-Yo kicked off the release day of his seventh studio album, Good Man with a free concert in New York City’s Central Park on Friday morning (Jun. 8). The televised performance was broadcast on ABC as part of the 2018 “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series, and the R&B hit-maker brought the summery vibes! Dressed in a light blue suit, white tee and navy fedora, Ne-Yo was joined by some beautiful festival dancers as he performed his latest club single “Push Back,” followed by the album’s title track.
In addition to his early morning performance on “GMA,” they also premiered the music video for the title track “Good Man.” The video was shot in Los Angeles, and directed by Jerome D (Kendrick Lamar, Afrojack).
“This video is about the wrongs we do and the potential danger that comes with,” says Ne-Yo. “It’s about remorse for our wrongs and the mental (or physical) letter we write to the person we’ve wronged but also to ourselves to remind us of what it is we need to be for that person. In the case of myself, a Good Man. It’s a struggle. It’s a process. But love is worth it.”
