Rostrum Records signee Taliwhoah brings some nutritious musical comfort with her brand new single “Soul Food.” The London bred, Los Angeles based singer/songwriter connects with fellow rising talent Arin Ray on the smooth tune, which follows her debut EP New Wave Order, Vol.
Bringing the love-filled record to life, the collaborators traveled to Cuba for the official music video. As Ray steps out of a classic Cuban vintage car, Taliwhoah opens the record with love making on her mind.
“First thing when I wake up / Like vitamins ’cause I need your love,” she sings from her balcony. “I don’t want to be your late night snack / I want to be your right now right now / I got all your soul food.”
Cuddling in the back of a taxi, they take in the Cuban culture while sightseeing. Ray responds to her advances with a melodic second verse, “You know I love it when you talk fast,” he sings. “Know I need a fun time when I beat that, when I eat that.”
The young lovers continue to enjoy their Cuban vacation throughout the rest of the day and night, which of course ends up back at a hotel. But, just when it seems like the perfect love affair, Taliwhoah finds a text come in from another woman on Ray’s phone, and the video cuts out with the text ‘to be continued.’
