Ciara is back and ready to take it to the next level.
After getting married and welcoming her daughter Sienna, Mrs. Russell Wilson returns with “Level Up,” her first new music since 2015’s Jackie.
The upbeat anthem finds Ciara grinding, shining, and dancing again. “Them old mistakes are gone, I won’t do them no more,” she sings over the galloping beat. “I turned nothing to something / My comeback on 100 / Less talkin’, more action.”
The dance-centric music video, directed by Ciara and Parris, opens with some inspirational words: “Be your own boss, love yourself, get up and dance. Level up!”
Then Ciara gets to work, wearing headphones and a black leotard with the words “Level Up,” while busting out back-bending choreography with the all-female Request Dance Crew, dressed in matching red active wear and headphones.
Ciara, who celebrated her second wedding anniversary with Russell Wilson this month, is now readying a new album on her own Beauty Entertainment label, which promises more dance hits. “I want to make the world dance,” she told Harper’s Bazaar last year.
