Today (July 13), Republic Records signee Kiana Ledé releases her much-anticipated, debut EP, Selfless.
The eight-song set illuminates the singer/songwriter/actress’s penchant for slick, sharp, smart, and soulful R&B music. Punctuated by her strong female voice of empowerment, and brutally honest, truly self-aware lyrics, Kiana’s EP is a warning shot that a new star is on the rise. The project has been led by her buzzing breakup single “Fairplay” which now features rapper A$AP Ferg.
Meanwhile, she teams up with label mate Blackway for the instantly infectious “Shame.” Produced by Rice N Peas, “Wicked Games” takes flight on her dynamic delivery over cinematic and stunning production, it’s a great way to get to know Kiana. “Show Love,” produced by multi-Grammy winning producer/engineer Duro and Z3N, is a bouncy modern R&B jam with slick wordplay and an infectious hook calling on her man to at least “show up and show love.” On the catchy “EX,” Ledé recalls when a relationship was drama-free and based on a friendship that she wishes to rekindle.
