Cash Money crooner Jacquees dropped his debut album 4275 in June. The impressive project boasts a star-filled roster of features from veteran artists like Jagged Edge, Birdman, and Jermaine Dupri. The 12th track on 4275 is “All My Life,” which features Chris Brown and is produced by the New York duo Da Beat Freakz. On the song, Jacquees sings about sticking to what he’s been doing throughout his entire life and not changing for anyone.
“In my whole life, people thought I was Wayne. I’m talking about, when I was 5 years old, straight off the porch. I heard this all the way ‘til now,” Jacquees tells Genius. “And then just recently, you know how people be like, ‘Oh you look like Quavo.’ And now a lot of times, people do that because they don’t be wanting to be like, ‘Oh Jacquees, I love you.’ They don’t know how to approach you.”
Jacquees recently sat down with Genius for the latest episode of their “Verified” series and broke down the track. Watch him go line-for-line with “All My Life,” in the video below.
