Eric Bellinger is back with a brand new anthem for all the self-proclaimed “bad bitches.” The R&B hitmaker announces the brand new project ‘Poncho Belly and Dizzle‘ with rapper AD, and the first single “Pullin Up” is lit.
The collaborators flexed their chemistry on the fan-favorite “She” off Eric’s recent album Eazy Call, and now they have a full-length project on the way.
Speaking about the title, Bellinger explains: “We adopted nicknames for each other in the studio instantly! I had recently just come back from Mexico and I bought every color poncho I could find out there, and AD was on his classy hood player shit as always, so it was only right to call him Dizzle. What started off as a joke birthed into what will be a proud moment for us when this album drops.”
On “Pullin Up,” Eric and AD set the scene together as a baddie pulls up to the curb and their minds start racing. Bellinger has never had a shortage of beautiful women around to sing about, but in the new track he’s letting the world know: “Whole hood going insane / I’m at the top of my game / Watch how they pull up.”
AD’s lyrics are the game he’s spitting, and he doesn’t hold back about what he wants to do. “I ain’t nothing like these other n***s / Good with digits like your tax man,” he raps. “Hit it ’til you need a CAT scan / Ninja moves, make you do back flips.” According to the rising emcee, working with Eric Bellinger has been a great experience. “This album was complete fun for us. Eric, aka Poncho, is a musical genius. Watching his process pushed me to find new strengths in my own recordings.”
Eric Bellinger is currently in the middle of his Australian and New Zealand “Eazy Call Tour.”
