Returning with his second single of the summer, young soul impresario Samm Henshaw is just trying to live his best life, while “Broke.”
On the heels of the feel-good “How Does It Feel,” the British singer/songwriter reflects on the strain his recent financial situation has on his relationship.
Produced by Josh Grant and Levi Lennox, the infectious groove is a blend of lively keys, classic Hip-Hop drums and soulful horns. Samm admits to his flaws but makes a playful plea to his girlfriend to give him another chance.
“Tell me, if I wasn’t broke, would you spend more time with me, like you said you’d do,” he sings. “Tell me what I’m supposed to do? / ‘Cause the only thing I need is to be loved by you.”
