Soul powerhouse Jacob Banks unveils the video for his latest single “Be Good To Me” featuring Seinabo Sey. The cinematic visual, which was directed and written by Jacob himself, depicts a charged and harrowing escape from slavery.
Produced by xSDTRK (Usher, Jennifer Lopez) and Laleh Pourkarim (Ellie Goulding), the track is a liberating exploration of love and longing that showcases both Jacob’s and Seinabo’s soulful vocals.
“Please be good to me / Or save my soul and lead me home,” sings Banks. “I’ve been runnin’ for far too long / Please be good to me.” Seinabo responds with her own affirmations of their requests for pleasant partings. “My time is yours, waste it carefully,” she sings. “If you hit and run, do it gracefully.”
Jacob Banks will release his anticipated major label debut album, Village, on Nov. 2 via Interscope. Earlier this month, he announced his headlining European tour in support of the album. The tour will kick off in The Netherlands, making stops across Europe this fall including Sweden, Ireland, France, and England, before concluding in Switzerland.
