ThisIsRnB has been known for being a pioneer in locating and promoting new talent. Now, over a decade later, we want to keep with our mission as well as switch things up a bit. And what better place to do that than where it all started: New York City.

If you happen to live in the Tri-State area and have been on the hunt for some real R&B parties, look no further. ThisIsRnB, in partnership with a few of our DJ and promoter friends, has a list of events for you to enjoy if you’re looking for something to do. Not Another ’90s Party at Good Life BK — Brooklyn

Looking for a party to take you back to those unforgettable musical moments of the past five-to-ten years? ThisIsRnB — in partnership with Kevito Says — has exactly what you need. Taking place on the first Thursday of every month at GoodLife BK, R&B lovers can enjoy a space where current-day music thrives and be introduced to newer artists. And, offer a safe and fun place where an artist can test their newest music and engage with R&B fans. If you’re not interested in hitting another ‘Best of’ party, then this is where you need to be. The next function jumps off on March 5 with vibes curated by DJ EDICA+, happy hour drinks and light bites on deck.

The R&B Kickback at SOB’s — Manhattan / Connecticut area

Launched in the Fall of 2018, The R&B Kickback started out as a monthly local event-based in Hartford, CT. Quickly growing from a humble 150 attendees to a number over three times that amount a year and a half later, the coveted party is finally taking its vibes on the road.

Hosting its inaugural New York installment at SOB’s on March 22, this event — in partnership with ThisIsRnB — will include performances from PxRRY, Laeli Roselle and more. Curating the vibes is Power 105.1’s DJ Nyla Symone who will be leading a night of sultry R&B, classic tunes, and — of course — the new jams we can’t resist.

R&B Thursdays at Locksmith Bar — Washington Heights

Undoubtedly one of the best-kept secrets in NYC, R&B Thursdays at Locksmith Bar delivers an unforgettable wall to wall R&B dance party. Quickly becoming a favorite for uptown locals and R&B lovers across the city, the month party — which is curated by Resident DJ Yoo Q — brings both new and veteran DJs together with the collective goal of having you “in your bag” by the end of the night.
