R&B crooner Kevin Ross is here to provide some relief during a time of concern, quarantine, and uncertainty. The artist has unveiled The Interim Series, a collection of songs, covers and originals that will be released weekly while the world deals with the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with the announcement, he dropped the first track, a cover of the Stevie Wonder classic, “Love’s In Need of Love Today,” and it features Sonna Rele of London.
The budding artist posted to his Instagram: “Starting a series called #TheInterim until we get on the other side of this pandemic. First song is one of my favorites from Stevie and I did it with the amazing @sonnarele.”
The two crafted a beautiful, heartwarming rendition of the song. Ross’ silky smooth vocals and ad libs give the song a new school feel with the same powerful message. Sonna Rele equally impresses about half way through the song with sweet runs, showcasing her vocals.
Originally from Washington, D.C. Ross kicked off his career as a songwriter, crafting pieces for legendary R&B artists Johnny Gill, SWV, and Jamie Foxx among others. Now, he continues to make a splash as an artist. According to his PR team, he started the new year debuting at #3 on iTunes R&B Albums chart with Audacity Vol 1.
