Stream GIVEON’s Debut EP, ‘TAKE TIME’

Earlier this month, Drake released “Chicago Freestyle” as part of a two-track surprise. Many fans assumed the impressive guest vocals were Sampha’s but it turned out to be GIVEON’s. The Long Beach born R&B singer has perfectly timed the release of his debut project as music fans have been going through his discography for more tunes. 

There are some R&B artists (e.g Khalid) with unique vocals that can be easily identified when they hop on any song. GIVEON is going to be that kind of artist. On the EP, he flaunts his baritone voice and storytelling lyrics. Some of the standouts on the project are “HEARTBREAK ANNIVERSARY,” “FAVORITE MISTAKE,” and “WORLD WE CREATED.”

GIVEON infuses Rat Pack-style classiness into modern R&B. The Epic Records signee credits his mother for instilling a passion for music at a young age and encouraging his talent. After she noticed his singing abilities, the baritone singer was forced to perform at family events to work on his craft.
