Rising Dutch Ghanaian singer Nana Fofie is celebrating her birthday (June 1), and she’s gifting us a present with her new single “Yeno Ntem.” The bouncy, upbeat track has all the flavors to get you on your feet to dance.
The world is in need of some strong positive vibes, and that was Fofie’s motivation for the song. She wrote the track to be a “feel good summer jam that is all about good vibes, laughter and having fun with friends and family.”
Showcasing her African heritage, “Yeno Ntem” means “hurry up,” and Fofie’s smooth vocals grace the track mixing English and her Ghanian dialect.
Fofie is building quite the buzz. According to her PR team, she has more than 10 million streams and 250,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, has eclipsed 15 million plays on YouTube, and Nicki Minaj invited her to open the Amsterdam leg of The Nicki Wrld Tour last year. They add that her previous single, “Undeniable,” garnered more than 200,000 streams and “Yeno Ntem” is a precursor to her upcoming sophomore EP.
Fofie is quickly becoming an artist to watch out for in Europe’s music landscape, as she highlights her unique ‘Afro R&B’ sound.
