Simone Kelly Kicks Off 2023 With “Time” & “My Person”

 Simone Kelly is an exciting new artist in R&B right now. She built a buzzing resume with therapeutic songs, which transcended into an undeniable fanbase on social media that will reach a fever pitch in 2023 with the release of her best music yet.

To kick off the breakout year, the Chicago native drops two new songs, “Time” and “My Person.”

“Time,” a song about leaving a toxic relationship,  is directed by Lex Macon and stars Kelly confessing her frustration with lies and mischief. Leaving it at the altar, she rage sings all the things committed to her by a worthless ex. Donning a symbolic red ensemble, Simone is fearless, impactful, and hypnotizing. 

In “My Person,” Kelly addresses rediscovering self-love after overcoming her addiction to love from others. The song details all the layers that come with starting over following a toxic relationship. And with words of affirmation, she showcases every emotion. “My Person” is  Simone Kelly’s best work yet. 

Kelly’s music retells a period of healing after an abusive relationship that saw her weigh merely 100 lbs at one point in time. “I started writing records about the way I was feeling at that time and it started making me stronger,” admits the singer. “Then, I started back surrounding myself with people who believed in me and wanted me to win.” 

Equipped with empathic creativity, unique vocals, and a signature look. Simone Kelly accrued popularity in 2021 with the release of her debut EP, Up In the Air. For Kelly, the music and her family values helped her redefine herself as a person and recording artist. “If I don’t know who I am, I could easily get lost in other people’s opinions,” she says.
