Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the U.S. since 1949. Every year during the month of May, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)  joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. “Together, we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public, and advocate for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness. “This year, NAMI is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month with the More Than Enough campaign!  Click here to learn more and to get involved.

Monet’s single “Hold On”  has island vibes and sounds like a Caribbean song. The way Monet sings the songs along with the lyrics also gives the track an island, Reggae/Soul vibe that is filled with positivity, encouragement, and light.

“Don’t worry about your future/Keep your head up and be happy/I’m telling you to hold on, don’t give up.”

Monet is encouraging anyone with a dream to keep going- don’t worry about your future, just take steps forward and be happy while doing it. This is a message much needed in today’s world, especially when social media and everything else around you may have you feeling like you’re behind on your goals or not accomplishing anything. This song aims to shed light on the mental health crisis among inner-city youth, according to a press release.

Monet is also a playwright and for over a decade, a four-time award-winning Female Music Producer of New England’s Urban Award. Monét A. Ledbetter-Glaude better known as (“Angel Monét”), has created a presence in the world of Children’s music through her original songs filled with uplifting themes and Gospel, Pop, Funk, Hip Hop, and Caribbean rhythms.
