The wait is finally over! Bradd Marquis is set to release the lead single, “OU.” from his highly anticipated EP “I Choose You.” ThisIsRnB is exclusively premiering the single today.
This may come as a surprise to some of you especially if you missed our live Instagram listening party, which is available for your viewing pleasure here. There was a healthy debate over which single would be the first release between this is RnB’s host, Kadeja Wexler, and producer, Christy Stanley, Bradd Marquis, his lovely wife, and the virtual audience that attended.
“OU” comes right on the heels of Marquise’s sold-out Sam Cook’s ‘Blowing in the Wind’ tour, and finds him getting back to Afrobeat’s infused R&B.
When asked about the single Bradd says, “O U.” reminisces about the first time he and his wife met, made love, and the immediacy of their connection.” The single makes it clear she’s his one and only as he sings “something about you drew me to you…Lord knows I wasn’t trying to fall /I was focused on me and not love/I was cool, I was cool/ baby you stayed on my mind/ stole my heart like its a crime…”
“OU.” is a classic tale of man meets woman and then the allure begins. The candle is lit and the chemistry is aflame. Everyone in the room can feel their heat as they dance to the hypnotic rhythms of the beat. The magnetic pull of love takes center stage.
Bradd lays down his vocals beginning with his tenor, and then lifts splendidly soaring through the risers with the rough and sweet edge of his intentions, lending itself to spill over in emotion making the notion ” Baby it’s You.”
During our Instagram Live Bradd expanded on the meaning behind the album “I Choose You” saying, “Love to me is a choice. That’s why we went with ‘I Choose You,” because I’m choosing to be in love. I’m choosing love. I’m choosing my wife. I’m choosing this lifestyle. I’m choosing discipline… I chose to be in the relationship so choose to stay in the relationship and work through the ups and downs in the relationship…”
“OU.” is a musical ride to romance. for sure!
