Sol Village 12/19/12 (Recap & Photos)

Last night, another very successful edition of ‘Sol Village’ went down at SOB’s. Our friends at YouKnowIGotSoul and TheNext2Shine presented a great group of emerging talent. The event, which as always, was hosted by Eric Roberson, and featured Mateo, Gotham Citi, MPrynt, Mylah, Kenny Wesley and Steve Lovell.

The energy and talent level of the night was set off immediately with a soul-stirring set from Steve Lovell, Eric got the crowd involved singing happy birthday to an audience member visiting from London, Kenny Wesley entertained with his dance moves and energy.

MPrynt, who are signed to Motown, made an impression and certainly had some serious fans in attendance. Mylah, who is working with Bryan Michael Cox, shared and delivered with her beautiful vocal. Following his introduction from Kerry “Krucial” Brothers, Mateo effortlessly ran through his catalog of singles and fan favorites, receiving love from many adorning female fans in the crowd. The night was closed by emerging R&B group Gotham Citi, who are also working under Bryan Michael Cox’s label, and received a strong introduction from the platinum producer. The NYC natives tore it down with a set of covers and originals, showing their range, perfect harmonies and stage presence, closing the show with their new single “I Want You.”
