Koffee Brown was a R&B and neo-soul duo consisting of male singer Fonz and female singer Verlene “Vee” Sales. They were discovered by music producer Kay Gee of Naughty by Nature and RL of Next. Before joining forces Fonz worked on a few solo efforts and Vee sang back up for Case, Aaron Hall, Mary J. Blige, and Faith Evans.
“After Party” was a single from their debut album Mars/Venus. The song is a jazzy dance track that climbed the charts in early 2001, and at the time Koffe Brown filled the male/female singing duo void. The single peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The music video opens at 3:00 A.M. with the duo kicking off the rest of their night at a hotel after-party. The video shows the party ending at 7:00 A.M. with the guests spilling onto the patio as they continue to dance. The music video also features cameos from R&B group Next and singer Jaheim.
