Finally! After almost a year of back and forth madness, Chris Brown has secured a new date for the release of his upcoming album, X.

Check out more after the jump!

Taking to his Instagram just moments ago, the hit making star revealed that fans can now expect his new album on September 16! The follow-up to 2012′s Fortune was originally due in July 2013, but was pushed back several times because of Brown’s legal issues and jail sentence.

The album, which is currently being led by the hit singles “Loyal” and “New Flame,” will be released on Breezy’s 25th birthday and was once rumored to be a double disc feature. During an interview with ThisIsRnB.com last month, Verse Simmonds stated:

“Ah man, I feel like I’m really looking forward to Chris’ album, not because I have so much work on it. I mean that’s part of the reason, but another reason is because I feel like for R&B music, he’s really bridging a gap.”

Last month also saw Breezy shock the world with his studio session with ex-enemy Drake. With the album due out in less than 2 months, we’re hoping that we can get a collabo from the artists on X. When asked about the process of recording the album, Chris told Rolling Stone last year:

“This album has a lot of substance, from the subject matter and the situations to how it deals with love. It’s really derived from personal experiences. Then again, I always like mixing reality with art.”

We’re surely looking forward to what he’s been cooking up in the studio and hopefully, this date actually produces the project!

So tell us: Are you excited that he’s finally ready to give the fans what they want?

Substance?! Loyal & Love More are 2 of the dumbest songs I have heard in a while.

I’m really looking forward to the release. I had high expectations after the releases of “Don’t think they’ll know” and “Fine China”, which where both brilliant, but after “Loyal” and “Love more” i really doubt if Chris completly took the step from Autotune/Pop-RnB to a more grown-up sound. And I think the delaying and the lack of information that was coming from Chris and RCA was really messing up with the fans
