As we expected, Ariana Grande has yet another hit on her hands! Scoring her second No. 1 album in less than a year, the 21-year-old superstar is becoming a serious “Problem” in the industry.
Catch more details after the jump!
While we were disappointed that Ariana’s debut album Yours Truly missed out on a Grammy nomination last year, we’re sure that she won’t be left behind this time around. For as last week saw the release of her sophomore album My Everything, today the official numbers are in!
Raking in 169,000 units sold, the former teen actress is basking in the limelight once again. Releasing the album less than a year after her debut, Ariana has continued to impress fans and critics alike with her booming yet sweet voice. Selling 30,000 units more than Yours Truly, her sophomore effort features appearances from The Weeknd, rumored boo Big Sean, Zedd, Iggy Azalea, Childish Gambino and more.
Grande, who has been steadily pushing her multiple singles from the album, is the first woman since 2010 to debut at No. 1 with her first two albums and one of three women to release two separate No. 1 albums in one year.
Nabbing another top spot on the Billboard 200 Top 10 is R&B crooner KEM with his fourth album, Promise To Love. Coming in at No. 3 and selling an impressive 52,000 units, the album comes one spot lower than 2010’s Intimacy: Album III, which sold 74,000 units in its first week.
Congratulations to both artists on their accomplishments!
