Last night marked a tremendous night for stars and veterans alike! Heading to Washington, D.C. to participate in the annual “Concert For Valor” spectacle, fans, military professionals, stars, and everyone in between received a few performances of a lifetime. Aired on HBO, the concert was put together to bring awareness of veterans’ support groups, raise funds for charities geared towards veterans, and provide recognition and salute to the troops who have risked their lives for the country.
While the event was filled with stars like Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Jamie Foxx, and Will Smith, it was the performances by Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, and Jessie J that gave us chills on the cold night. Opening up with a jaw-dropping performance of the “Star Spangled Banner,” Jennifer Hudson was then joined by powerhouse vocalist Jessie J to deliver their rendition of David Guetta’s 2011 hit, “Titanium”.
Although the two above gave an expected top performance, one of the biggest surprises of the night came from Rihanna – who possibly delivered one of the best performances of her almost decade long career. Taking to the stage to perform her chart-topping singles “Diamonds” and “Stay,” the beautiful songstress held nothing back as she belted out the hits on stage. Sounding amazing compared to previous efforts, we’re hoping that this appearance was another indication that #R8 is surely on its way.
Without further adieu, check out the ladies in action below!
Wow. Rihanna blew me away with these performances. R8 might be her best yet.
