The-Dream is back with the hot single “That’s My Sh*t,” and double EP ‘Crown | Jewel‘ due out this spring. Getting on the promo trail early, the multi Grammy Award winner stopped by The Breakfast Club on Power 105 in NYC for an interview on Wednesday.

Catching up with his old friends, Envy, Angela, and Charlamagne, the singer/songwriter/producer shared his thoughts and answered questions on topics varying from his current imprint label situation with Capitol Records, departure from Def Jam, new marriage, relationship with his ex Christina Milian, the Grammy Awards, scoring the movie Beyond The Lights, the state of R&B, and of course his upcoming projects.

“I think we like feeling ignorant, most of the time,” Dream said about current mainstream R&B music. “I think we like talking about ignorant things, we don’t have that love that they once had, like when I grew up … I have a problem when men that are supposed to be R&B artists talk about women in a certain type of way … You’re supposed to be kinda like a cornerstone of being the person uplifting love in that sense. I think we like it, because the same way your asking me the question it’s not going to stop anybody from going to the club tonight, putting their hands up for something that’s degrading.”
