After winning an Oscar for his music, John Legend is now looking to get into film behind the camera, and he plans to bring Miguel with him!
According to Variety, John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co. will co-produce an untitled musical romantic drama starring the “Adorn” singer.
Miguel will make his acting debut as a former one-hit wonder who regains his love for music when he is hired to coach an aspiring singer for her audition on a singing competition show.
Nabil Elderkin, who has directed music videos for Legend (“All of Me”), Frank Ocean (“Pyramids”), and G.O.O.D. Music (“Mercy”), will make his feature film directorial debut.
The movie is scheduled to start production this September in Philadelphia. Legend will also curate the music for the film.
In the meantime, Miguel is working on the follow-up to 2012’s Kaleidoscope Dream. In December, he dropped his three-song EP nwa.hollywooddreams.coffee.
