Throwback Thursday: Dave Hollister – ‘Can’t Stay’

Dave Hollister is a R&B singer/songwriter who found fame during the ’90s as one quarter of the platinum-selling R&B quartet Blackstreet, before going on to a solo career. He also sung background vocals for Jodeci, as he is a cousin to K-Ci and JoJo.

“Can’t Stay” was a single off his debut studio album Ghetto Hymns. The song showcases Hollister’s ability to the velvety depth that is soul-stirring R&B. Hollister, who is known for his gritty soul, also showcases his gospel influence on this song as well.

It’s nothing like R&B singers that come from the church. Enjoy the throwback above!
