Throwback Thursday: D’Angelo – Untitled (How Does It Feel)

By

“Girl it’s only you…….”

D’Angelo is a musical god, let’s just keep it that simple.  “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” was the third single off his second studio album Voodoo. Written and produced by himself and Raphael Saadiq, the song was originally composed as a tribute to another musical god, Prince.  The record contains a vintage style and sound similar to that of Prince’s early work, while the song’s lyrics concern a man’s plea to his lover for sex, showcased through D’Angelo’s incredible falsetto.

The music video, shot by Paul Hunter, not only took him and Voodoo to mainstream success, but it also established D’Angelo as a sex icon. “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” was also listed as the fourth best single of 2000. The single peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.
