Burgeoning artist Raury made his growing fan base very happy this week with the announcement that his debut album, All We Need, will be released on Oct. 16. In addition to the news, and sharing the LP cover and tracklisting, he has now debuted a cinematic music video for the ’80s vibed-out song “Friends” featuring Tom Morello.
The visual story, directed by Duncan Winecoff, follows the singer-songwriter on his journey from Atlanta to Chicago, where he hitched rides with random ‘friends’ who he connected with via social media.
“I’ve realized a lot in my 19-years of existence,” explains Raury. “Most importantly, I’ve found out that I’m a bit naive. Someday I do believe the human race will let go of all the very unimportant things that separate us from the bigger goal. Everything you see in the video happened in real life,” he continued. “It was a special experience to have friends I talk to on Twitter be down to pick me up and ride with me to Chicago. I made more friends because of the video. Family and friends are a privilege to have and I don’t take them for granted.”
