Erykah Badu To Host Soul Train Awards 2015, Jill Scott & Babyface Honored

Super soul sista Erykah Badu is about to spin her Black Girl Magic, as the host of the 2015 Soul Train Awards! This year’s celebration will have appearances and performances from some of the music industry’s top artists, past and present.

Adding to Ms. Badoula’s mystical presence is fellow soul sirene, Jill Scott, who will be receiving the first-ever Lady of Soul Award. A true Woman, the 3x Grammy Award-winner, has established herself as a critically acclaimed actress, as well as a New York Times bestselling poet.

R&B icon, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds will also be honored, as he is set to receive this year’s Legend Award. The “Whip Appeal” crooner has won 11 Grammy Awards and written and produced 26 No. 1 R&B hits. His new album, Return of the Tender Lover, will be released December 4.

Filming of the 2015 Soul Train Awards is set for November 6 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, the show will air on CENTRIC and BET on November 29 at 8PM ET.

Leading this year’s nominations are The Weeknd and Bruno Mars with five each, while Beyoncé, Chris Brown and Tyrese follow behind with four apiece. See the full list of nominees here.
