Adrian Marcel recently made his homecoming to the Bay & stopped by 106KMEL for an exclusive listener event, including playing unreleased records off of his forthcoming debut album #GMFU. He also revealed the features on the album and when he’s planning on releasing it.
Speaking with Shay Diddy in this lengthy interview, Adrian talked about the debut project, which he described as a “complete representation” of himself more so than his previous mixtapes, and much more “unfiltered”. The “2 AM” singer even described the project to have some controversial lyrics and topics. He also talked about his newest single “WAM (Weed And Money)” featuring E-40 & Wale, and how the song and collaboration initially came about.
He goes into depth about some album cuts, such as “Diamond in the Back” and “Hello”. Adrian also talks about his thoughts on the state of R&B and Tyrese’s recent rant about not getting enough recognition or radio play, as well as the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
Adrian confirmed features on the album include Raphael Saadiq, B.o.B., Yo Gotti, Kirko Bangz, Wale, and E-40, and that he’s aiming to release the project in April.
In addition to his interview, Marcel took to the VIP Lounge stage for a performance of “Take Your Time,” “2 AM” and new single “WAM.”
