Chris Brown hasn’t been in many people’s good graces lately due to his questionable social media activity, but the R&B superstar plans to get candid with his loyal fans and followers through the release of his official documentary “Welcome To My Life.”
Giving us an early glimpse at the film, with a nearly three-minute trailer, Breezy reflects on his quick rise to stardom and the fallout he faced after his assault on Rihanna.
The doc, directed by Andrew Sandler and produced by Riveting Entertainment, is comprised of old and new interviews and commentary from Brown’s friends and family including his mother Joyce Hawkins, Jamie Foxx, Usher, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Ora, and Mary J. Blige.
In addition to highlighting his success, it delves into darker times in his life, including his tumultuous relationship with Rihanna (“It was like a fairytale”), which led to drug use and even suicidal thoughts (“I was thinking about suicide and everything else”).
“I went from being on top of the world, No. 1 songs, being kinda like America’s sweetheart to being public enemy No. 1,” says Brown.
Welcome to My Life does not yet have a release date. In the meantime, you can catch Breezy on his “One Hell of a Nite” tour through Europe, beginning May 22 in Frankfurt, Germany.
