After debuting a first look during the BET Awards on Sunday night, the official trailer has now been released for the networks anticipated mini-series biopic, The New Edition Story.
Set to premiere in early 2017, the series will chronicle the early rise, success, peak, and fall of R&B super group New Edition, and it’s members, including all 6 bandmates.
Michael Bivins (played by Bryshere Y. Gray), Ricky Bell (played by Elijah Kelley), Ralph Tresvant (played by Algee Smith), Ronnie Devoe (played by Keith Powers), Johnny Gill (played by Luke James), and Woody McClain as Bobby Brown.
The film also features R&B crooner Tank as record executive Jheryl Busby, Michael Rapaport (Boston Public, Justified) will play Gary Evans, Faizon Love will play Maurice Starr, Duane Martin will play Louil Silas, Wood Harris (Remember the Titans, The Wire) will play the groups choreographer Brooke Payne, and Bre-Z (Empire) will play Peanut Bell.
