It’s a riot, and Sevyn Streeter is holding court.
After debuting her Gucci Mane-assisted new single last Thursday, the R&B vixen returns today with the Mad Max-inspired music video for “Prolly.”
The sexy singer struts through a post-apocalyptic type setting with bikers and muscle-bound men at every corner. In other scenes she performs through distorted video screens, commanding attention while singing the unapologetic turn-up anthem.
“Did I go too far tonight? / I don’t know, Prolly / Did I almost start a fight? / I don’t know, Prolly / Are these n**gas tryin to f*ck, I don’t know, Prolly,” she sings before Guwop delivers his hologram-esque cameo. Gucci chooses to be more definitive with his verse rapping, “The way I figure, ain’t no prolly, I’m that ni**a.”
Streeter opened up about the clip in an interview with The FADER.
“Though I’m definitely a fan of Mad Max, I honestly can’t take responsibility for this creative vision,” she said. “I gotta hand it to my director Mike Ho! He turned the feeling and vibes I had while writing ‘Prolly’ into reality! I knew the song was unapologetic, raw, and edgy and he created a treatment/environment that brought it to life!”
“Prolly” is the first in a new monthly video series leading up to Sevyn’s debut album Girl Interrupted. Due early next year, the project will feature guest spots from DeJ Loaf, Ty Dolla $ign, August Alsina, and Dave East over production from the likes The-Dream, Sean Garrett, and Bangladesh.
