Bobby Brown, BLACKstreet, Guy, Total & More to Perform at 2016 Soul Train Awards

The 2016 Soul Train Awards are going to be taking us back!!

Bobby Brown, BLACKstreet, Guy and Total have been confirmed as additional special performers at this year’s STAs, which will be filmed in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena this weekend (Nov. 6). They, along with Doug E. Fresh, Wreckx-N-Effect, Anderson .Paak, D.R.A.M., MA$E and Carl Thomas, join a previously announced talent lineup that includes rising stars like BJ the Chicago Kid, Ro James, Yuna, Candice Boyd and Major.

Also announced today (Nov. 3) as presenters are cast members from BET’s forthcoming biopic The New Edition Story: Luke James, Woody McClain, Bryshere Y. Gray, Elijah Kelley and Keith Powers. They further round out a presenter slate that features Jill Scott, India.Arie and Eric Benét. This year’s special honorees are Grammy winners Teddy Riley (Legend Award) and Brandy (Lady of Soul Award). Returning as host is Erykah Badu.

Drake and Beyoncé lead this year’s nominations slate, with 12 and eight nods, respectively. Additional multiple nominees include Chance the Rapper, Anderson .Paak and Bryson Tiller.

The awards show is the culmination of the Soul Train Weekend, which kicks off today at the neighboring Mandalay Bay. Among the daily activities will be concerts featuring Scott, Monica, Anthony Hamilton, Tyrese, Jazmine Sullivan and Bell Biv DeVoe plus a comedy set starring Cedric “The Entertainer” and D.L. Hughley, among others.

The 2016 Soul Train Awards will premiere on Centric and BET on Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. ET.
