With her anticipated sophomore album Long Live The Angels due out on Friday (Nov. 11), Emeli Sandé has shared a video for the powerful new song “Breathing Underwater.”
The dramatic, but inspiring visual showcases various types of struggle in cinematic scenes, which lead to heavy performance dance routines and a commanding performance by Sandé.
“Something like flying / Hard to describe it / My God, I’m breathing underwater,” she sings on the enlightened chorus.
Emeli previously spoke about the record, “Sounds a bit dramatic but I just wanted to disappear,” she said. “I just had this overwhelming sensation and realization everything had to stop. And then slowly it did.”
